The Principal elders and Kingmakers of the Ngleshie Alata Traditional Area have issued a strong warning to online commentator Nii Tettey TV for what they describe as a persistent pattern of falsehoods, incitement, and divisive commentary surrounding chieftaincy matters in Jamestown.
According to the principal elders and Kingmakers, Nii Tettey TV has repeatedly used his social media platforms to spread misinformation, take sides in long-standing traditional issues, and make unverified claims intended to stir confusion among residents. Despite several cautions from the traditional authorities to refrain from interfering in chieftaincy affairs—especially those under adjudication or resolved through established customary processes—he has allegedly continued to escalate tensions with inflammatory broadcasts.
The Principal elders and Kingmakers expressed that chieftaincy matters in Jamestown are sacred and deeply rooted in centuries-old customs. Any attempt by external individuals to influence, manipulate, or misrepresent these processes is considered a direct threat to peace and order in the community. Elders emphasize that such interference not only misleads the public but also risks inciting violence, particularly among youth who may not be privy to accurate traditional history.

In a statement released to the community, the principal elders stressed that Nii Tettey TV does not have the authority, mandate, or traditional standing to comment on or adjudicate matters related to succession, recognition of chiefs, or internal decisions of the stool.
“We have advised him repeatedly to stay away from chieftaincy issues. His continuous actions are reckless, misleading, and dangerous to the peace of Jamestown,” the principal elders stated.
The Kingmakers have further urged the public to disregard the content shared on Nii Tettey TV’s platforms, describing it as sensational, deceptive, and deliberately crafted to sow discord.
As Jamestown continues its efforts to strengthen unity and uphold its cultural heritage, the chiefs reaffirm their commitment to protecting the integrity of the chieftaincy institution. They caution that any individual—online or offline—in Ghana or abroad, who attempts to destabilize community peace will face the appropriate traditional and legal consequences and violators will be prosecuted without recourse to any notice since they have been sufficiently warned. .
The community is reminded that maintaining peace requires collective responsibility, and misinformation must not be allowed to undermine the authority of the stool or the cohesion of the people of Jamestown. The principal elders have called on Nii Tettey TV to produce all his journalism certificates and licenses that gives him the credibility to assume any type of journalism mandate or to deliver sensitive news to the public.
